Create and Send an Email

Before sending an email, you must first add contacts and tag them. Then, you can send emails that include content from your streams and libraries.

  1. Select Send from the top menu, and you will be automatically taken to the Email tab.
  2. Select Compose in the upper right corner to get started.
  3. The first time you compose an email, add a header image by clicking the photo icon in the upper right corner. Suggested image size is 598px by 118px.Screen Shot 2016-08-08 at 10.03.52 AM
  4. Next, choose the email recipients by clicking the tag icon. You have the ability to send to all of your subscribed contacts or select specific tag groups for a more targeted email.  Review how to tag contacts hereScreen Shot 2017-10-20 at 12.00.51 PM

  6. Select Salutations. Here you will have the option to copy and paste the shortcuts directly into your email. These will pull the first and/or last name of each contact to provide a personalized greeting to begin your email.
  7. Type the body of your email message into the text editor. Use the formatting tools to select a different font, text color, or insert a hyperlink. Also, if you are copy and pasting text from a different program be sure to highlight your text and select the erasure icon to remove existing font style.Screen Shot 2017-10-20 at 12.15.50 PM
  8. To insert an image into the body, just drag and drop your file into the editor.

  10. When you choose a library or stream, the email builder will automatically display the four most relevant and up to date articles on that topic. Select the trash can next to an article to remove it from your email. Click “Add Content” at the bottom of the section to choose specific articles from the library or stream instead.Screen Shot 2017-10-20 at 12.41.58 PM
  11. Highlight the specific articles you want to add or remove for the section and select save.Screen Shot 2017-10-20 at 12.49.37 PM
  12. If you would like to automate this process instead of manually adding content, you can utilize our AI to surface articles for you by selecting Automate Content Curation.   13. After selecting save, the section will look like below. You will be able to view the actual articles in preview mode.Screen Shot 2017-10-20 at 12.57.52 PM
  14. Use the tools at the top of the section to save the section, change the title or move the section up or down.
  15. At the bottom of the email builder, optionally enter a footer.
  16. Now that your email is ready, scroll to the top and select the clock icon to schedule the day and time it will be sent to your contacts and press Save.Screen Shot 2017-10-20 at 1.05.31 PM
  17. Select the floppy disc icon to Save and Preview your email. To make further edits, select the pencil icon. To send yourself a test email, select the envelope icon. You have now completed all the steps to sending out your first email.
